📢 POST 3: PARKING & GROWTH NEEDS – PLANNING FOR TODAY AND TOMORROW 📅 As we continue our week of sharing facts about the PROP KIDS 2025 Bond Issue, we’re focusing today on a very real, everyday challenge: parking and traffic flow. 🚗 As our school grows, so do the needs of our families, staff, and community. Over the years, Kelso C-7 has seen increases in enrollment, activities, and special events. That’s a great thing — but it’s also pushed our current parking capacity to its limits. Our gravel parking area is no longer enough to support drop-off and pick-up, staff and visitor parking, or the traffic from large events like Grandparents’ Day, Cheer Night, and school concerts. With Prop KIDS, we plan to: ✔️ Expand safe, usable parking ✔️ Reduce congestion during peak times ✔️ Create a more accessible, welcoming experience for students, families, and guests This is more than just paving a lot — it’s about improving daily operations, increasing safety, and respecting the time and comfort of every person who visits our campus. Today, we celebrate the heart of our school library, Ms. Kim Riley! Ms. Riley works to bring the joy of reading to our students, organizing amazing book fairs and making sure our shelves are always stocked with the books they love. We are so grateful that she has created a space where imagination thrives. Thank you, Ms. Riley, for everything you do to inspire our young readers!

📢 POST 2: NO TAX INCREASE – BIG IMPACT 📅 All this week, we’re sharing the facts behind the PROP KIDS 2025 Bond Issue. 💡 Let’s talk about one of the most important facts behind the Prop KIDS Bond: 💵 It does not raise your taxes. That’s right — this bond issue will fund critical safety and facility improvements, while keeping the debt service tax rate the same. 🔹 Current tax rate: 0.85 — no increase 🔹 Bond extends the rate from 2041 to 2045- 4 more years 🔹 Generates $1.3 million for upgrades that benefit every student and staff member This means we can move forward with safety upgrades, improved parking, and long-term facility improvements without placing an additional burden on our local taxpayers. We’re not asking for more — just the chance to do more with the resources we already have. ✅ Safe students. ✅ Secure schools. ✅ Stronger community — with no new taxes. 📢 Important Announcement: No Afterschool Care on Wednesday, April 2 Due to forecasted severe weather, there will be no afterschool care on Wednesday, April 2. ✨Student Spotlight✨ We had a RECORD BREAKING WEEK with Positive Office Referrals. We had thirty three students earn a trip to the office for a picture with Fozzie! 3️⃣3️⃣❗️ I am overcome with pride for our students and our community. I'm so thankful for our kids and equally as thankful for their teachers for going the extra mile to recognize them. We are doing big things at Kelso C-7, and it all begins with just being good people. #proudprincipal

Another Great Week.... Hello families! We’re excited to share this week’s visual schedule to help keep everyone informed and on track. A special highlight—this week we are celebrating our Students of the Month! Congratulations to all of our amazing students being recognized for their hard work, kindness, and growth. If your child was previously honored as Student of the Month, we kindly ask that you return the yard signs to the front office so we can continue the celebration with our next group of students. 🐾Fozzie Friday🐾 The past two weeks, Fozzie has had TWO Dinner Auction Day Out celebrations with two incredible families. A BIG thank you to Cape Small Animal Clinic for their hospitality, generosity, and kindness towards these girls. They were able to hear Fozzie's heartbeat ("WOW! That's fast!"), and Dr. Brian and Lauren SPOILED both families, as well as Fozzie, with gift bags. Additionally, we were able to visit the horses at the Heuring barn. I love our community. Thank you to the families that bid on these day out celebrations with Fozzie, and thank you to the Heurings for making these days extra special. We are so blessed at Kelso C-7.

Kelso C-7 School District Enters Partnership with Southeast Missouri State University through SEMO Educator Advantage Program Kelso, MO — March 26, 2025 — Kelso C-7 School District is proud to announce a new partnership with Southeast Missouri State University through the SEMO Educator Advantage Program. This agreement, signed today at Kelso C-7, marks an important step in supporting the professional growth of our educators. SEMO President Dr. Carlos Vargas joined the district for the signing event and delivered an inspiring message to our eighth-grade students, emphasizing the importance of hard work and finding balance in life. We are deeply grateful for Dr. Vargas and his team for taking the time to engage with and uplift our students. Through the Educator Advantage Program, Kelso C-7 educators will benefit from discounted tuition rates for both undergraduate and graduate programs, along with access to valuable campus resources and benefits. We are excited about this partnership and the opportunities it creates for our staff. It represents a shared commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in education.

What an amazing weekend for our Falcons! 🏀💙💛 A **BIG, BIG THANK YOU** to Brett and Rachel Harper for their incredible efforts in planning the **1st Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament**—your dedication made this special event a reality! We are so grateful for your planning, hard work, and Falcon spirit. A heartfelt shoutout to Evan Reischman, whose vision and passion for this tournament have been years in the making. To all the players who laced up their sneakers and took the court—thank you for bringing the energy, excitement, and good-spirited competition that made this tournament so memorable. Watching everyone come together, reconnect, and share in the joy of the game was a powerful reminder of the pride we all have in our school and community. 📢 A Huge Thank You to State Representative Dolan & State Senator Burger! 🎉 We are incredibly grateful for the continued support of State Representative Dolan and State Senator Burger for our public schools! 🙌 On Monday, March 3, both leaders took time out of their busy schedules at the Capitol to meet with Dr. Burger and discuss the needs of our students and educators. ✅ HB 711 passed the House yesterday and will now head to the Senate for a vote. Rep. Dolan stood strong for our schools by voting against open enrollment, ensuring our district remains strong and supported. ✅ Sen. Burger continues to make a difference in Jefferson City through his efforts for SEMO. He is also directly supporting Kelso C-7 by sponsoring a meal for our hardworking teachers on Monday, March 17, and, along with Rep. Dolan, sponsoring a special meal and day for our 8th graders on April 1.
