📣Weekly Spotlight📣 This was a BIG weekend for Falcons Athletics! Using most of the wording from our Athletics page: 🏆Congratulations to our New Hamburg Falcons 📣Our cheer squad received 1st place again for the third straight year!! These girls put in the work every year to defend their title and it definitely shows!!! 🏀Our boys basketball team fought hard all weekend and came away with 3rd place!! These boys have been so fun to watch all season and left it all on the court yesterday!! 🏀Our 4th Grade Girls Basketball team earned 1st Place in the Delta Tournament! Great Job, girls! 💙💛Thank you to everyone who showed up and cheered on our Falcons this weekend. We truly have the best fans out there!! 💙💛A BIG THANK YOU to our cheer coaches and basketball coaches. The leadership and dedication you are pouring into these kids does not go unnoticed. Coaching is not an easy job, and we are so thankful for the time you volunteer.

✨Special Announcement✨ Today we are spotlighting our Beta Club!! Our talented middle school students and sponsors just returned from the Beta Convention Competition! They were able to showcase their talents, creativity, leadership, and academic skills in various events. We are so proud of our team for how they represented Kelso C-7! We also have two students who took home FIRST PLACE and will move on to Nationals this summer! Special thanks to their dedicated sponsors: Mrs. Penny Hale, Mrs. Anna Wagner, and Mr John-Erik Jenkins! We are also very thankful for the parents that have supported their children in this exciting endeavor!

Thankful Thursday! 🙏❄️ Today, we want to express our deep gratitude to all the emergency responders, transportation department workers, and school maintenance personnel who worked tirelessly last week to clear the roads, walkways clear, and keep our families safe. Your dedication and hard work are truly appreciated. Thank you for making sure we can all get where we need to go safely, no matter the weather. 🌨️💙

🏀 Notre Dame Tournament Update 🏀 Big news, Falcon fans! The Notre Dame Tournament is happening THIS weekend, after being rescheduled due to last weekend's snow. 🗓 Game Schedule: 📍 Saturday: Cheer on the Kelso C-7 Falcons at 1:30 PM at St. Vincent School, Cape Girardeau. 📍 Sunday: Games will be played at Notre Dame Regional High School. 🔥 Why You Should Be There: Our basketball team is ranked 2nd heading into the tournament—their highest ranking in YEARS! 🏆 Our cheerleaders will be defending their title in the cheer competition, where crowd participation is key. They need your energy to bring home the win! 🎉 Let’s pack the stands, bring the noise, and show them what Falcon pride is all about! 💙💛 Good luck, Falcons! ‼️Challenge Accepted‼️ We were challenged by Scott City R-1 to host a fundraiser on Wednesday, January 22nd to support Bryson and his family after the tragic accident on January 13. For a $1 donation, students may wear a hat or pj's, OR simply wear one of Bryson's favorite colors (red or orange). Let's all remember to follow safety precautions around school buses to protect our children. #BrysonStrong

📚 Exciting News for Our Future Falcons! 🦅 Preschool enrollment is just around the corner! If you have a child ready to join our preschool program, be sure to call the main office at 573-545-3357 to get your child on the waiting list. Students must be at least 3 years old before August 2, 2025 and potty trained. Spots are filling up fast, so don’t wait! Let’s get ready to welcome the next generation of Falcons! ✨

Note: Change on Board Filing Date from 30th to 31st. The Kelso C-7 Board of Education will have their regular monthly meeting this Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 6:00 pm. All are invited and welcome to attend. Kelso C-7 Board of Education will be accepting candidate filings for board members starting Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at 8:00 am and will continue during regular hours Monday through Friday from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Filling will not occur on days that the district office is closed due to inclement weather. Filling will also not occur on the following days when the District’s office is closed: December 20 after 12 noon and the following days: December 24-27 for the Holiday Break. The District Office will be open from 3-5 pm on December 23 and December 31. The last day of filing will be December 30, 2024, until 5:00 pm. There are two positions available for three-year terms. The positions up are Andrea Koepp and Julie Heisserer. Either the Board Secretary or the Superintendent can accept filings.
