📣2025 Regional History Fair📣 Kelso C-7 School had 6 exhibits (6th-8th Grades) that advanced from our local History Fair who competed yesterday during the Regional History Day contest at Southeast Missouri State University. We are so proud of all of their hard work and how they represented Kelso C-7. Our students did well with positive comments from the judges. One student, Aubrey Kellett, placed 3rd in her category and has qualified to advance to the state competition in April! Way to go, Aubrey!! We wish her luck!

2025 SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ELEMENTARY COUNSELOR OF THE YEAR ✨Mrs. Stacy Creech✨ We are THRILLED to announce that our very own, Mrs. Stacy Creech, was named the 2025 SEMO Elementary School Counselor of the Year! This incredible honor was given to Mrs. Creech today, during her Southeast Missouri School Counselor Association meeting. Mrs. Creech was surprised by her husband and children attending the presentation, as well as Ms. Toler and Mrs. Lands. Mrs. Creech is an incredible asset to the Kelso C-7 School District. Her love and compassion for others are her strongest gifts. She enthusiastically leads whole class, small groups, and individual counseling sessions, and is the Psychological Examiner for our Special Education Department. Mrs. Creech is a friend to everyone. Her bright and shining smile grace our hallways each day, and she loves to make others happy. You will not find another caring counselor like our Mrs. Creech. She is a true gift and we are blessed to have her. CONGRATULATIONS, Mrs. Creech! We love you!

🐾Fozzie Friday🐾 Fozzie had a BIG week! He got to visit Cape Small Animal Clinic for an updated shot, visited lots of classrooms, and most importantly, he went to his first ballgame! Fozzie loved being at 8th Grade Night for our girls basketball team! He didn't care for the buzzer, but he did love seeing (and licking) all of his friends! I'm not sure if the students or adults had more fun with him! Two sweet pictures were taken with our precious Fozzie. One with a Pre-K student who was showing Mrs Lands her stuffed puppy, who she also named Fozzie 🐾💙 Next is Mrs Lands hugging one of our 8th Graders during the 8th Grade Night presentation. Fozzie loves those 8th Graders so much, especially when they visit the office🐾💙 Last, even Dr. Brian got to enjoy Fozzie being at the game. From the looks of the picture, Fozzie enjoyed Dr. Brian, too!! Have a great weekend, Falcons!

📣What's Happening Wednesday📣 🏀Last night we celebrated 8th Grade Night at our girls basketball team. Our girls played so hard as both teams came out victorious! 8th Grade Nights are always full of emotion, as one chapter comes to an end, and new beginnings are on the horizon. We are so sad to see this class closing in on their final months with us, but we couldn't be more proud of all they have accomplished. Also, we are so thankful for coaches that VOLUNTEER their time to instill values into our athletes. Not only are our athletes incredibly talented, but they are GOOD kids that play with integrity. As this season comes to an end very soon, we want to also thank the parents, grandparents, and fans that come out to support our kids. We are so blessed by our community. Thank you for showing up for our kids.💙

Kelso C-7 School District AR Goal Adjustment Dear Kelso C-7 Students and Families, Due to the number of days missed this quarter because of weather and illness, Kelso C-7 School District will be adjusting the AR (Accelerated Reader) goals for 3rd quarter. To ensure fairness, we will be lowering the percentage of points needed by 20% to account for the lost instructional time. This adjustment does take into consideration AMI days. Please note that the end of the quarter will remain March 7 to keep the academic schedule on track for the 4th quarter.
