Board of Education Meeting - August 7, 2024 The Kelso C-7 Board of Education will meet for the annual tax hearing at 5:45 pm and the regular business meeting will follow at 6:00 pm. Both meetings will be held in the District Library. All community members are invited and welcome to attend.

Back to School Items Tax free weekend is this weekend and back to school is just around the corner. Families can find both the preschool and elementary supply lists on District Information link of the homepage (link below). Spring 2024 MAP and EOC scores have arrived!! We are so proud of our team and their hard work to earn WOW-worthy scores! Individual student scores will be distributed at Back to School Night on Monday, August 19th. If your family would like the scores earlier, please contact the main office to make arrangements. Falcon Athletics is in full-swing. If you have not liked the Kelso C-7 Athletics Facebook page, its not too late! Athletic Director Katie Glastetter is regularly posting schedule updates. Digital enrollment links will be sent Monday, August 5th. Please be looking for the link in your inbox and possible spam folders. Families that have not completed the digital enrollment by Monday, August 19th, a paper version will be provided on the first day of school. Back to School Night- Date Change Back to School Night will be MONDAY, August 19th. This is a change from our originally scheduled date. The construction project is running a little behind; we are pushing back the date a little to give our team a little more time to prepare for the grand opening. For Back to School Night, each family has a time slot based on their last time to visit their classrooms and drop off any school supplies while they visit their teacher. For blended families, please go by the last name of your oldest child attending Kelso C-7. There will be a new family orientation at the beginning of the evening. This will be a crash course in Kelso C-7 basics. All new families and returning families are invited to attend. A few reminders and other notes: -If your family has not received their immunizations-it's not too late. Students going into Kindergarten and 8th grade will need updated immunizations. Nurse Burger has provided some helpful information to our families. -If your child has medications that are to be administered at school (including epi pens), please bring those to Back to School Night to the Nurse’s Office. -If a parents’ or guardians’ email address have changed, please login to Teacher Ease to either change it there or call the office with your new contact information. We will be sending out digital enrollment forms the first week of August. Enrollment information will be sent to the email address on file. -We do have a couple spots left in our preschool if there are any families interested. To receive free tuition, the student must be 4 by August 1, live in the Kelso C-7 District, and maintain a 94% attendance rate during the year. Calling all Girls Volleyball Players! Our Falcon coaches are hard at work and excited for our first ever all girls volleyball season. To help them prepare, please sign up via this survey/google form if you student plans to participate in volleyball this Fall. We are very excited to see all of our families for our first ever lunch bunch! All meals are going to be outside picnic style - so bring your chairs, blankets, whatever you need to make your picnic the most comfortable. Please fill up the parking lot, gravel parking, and grass parking -trying to avoid the easement road as much as possible. Its planting season and there may be some equipment passing through. It's the LAST FULL WEEK of the 2023-24 School Year!! Here's what's ahead for our Falcons!! Its a busy, fun week ahead of us. Just a note that all events this week are at the Kelso C-7 gym. Let's make it a great week, Kelso C-7 family!

Now Enrolling Preschoolers for 2024-25! The Kelso C-7 Board of Education voted last night to move the preschool to the main campus for the 2024-25 school year. The program has spots remaining for any families that will have a 3 year old or 4 year old (by August 1). All students must be fully potty trained. Tuition is $32 per day for all days that Kelso C-7 is in session. This includes a certified teacher, breakfast, lunch, if enough students enroll, an additional paraprofessional, and an amazing first experience for our young Falcons. If any families are interested, please call the office at 573.545.3357 or email the preschool teacher, Crystal Bentley, at cbentley@kelsoc-7.k12.mo.us. To hold your child's spot, a $50 enrollment fee is required. Enrollment closes May 10th! Kelso C-7 family, help us spread the word by liking, sharing, and tagging families. HAPPY TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK!! To say WE LOVE OUR TEACHERS, really doesn't capture how we feel about our teachers! Kelso C-7 is beyond blessed by the best. They are caring. Dedicated. Hard working, Intelligent. Perseverant. Strong. Loving. Compassionate. Dynamic. We could go on all day!!! This week we celebrate all of our teachers-and by that-its ALL of our employees. We believe that everyone that works at Kelso C-7 is a teacher. Some teach our students math and reading. Some teach students the importance of a balanced meal. Some the value of safety. But all our "teachers" aim to teach our students the value that each student has inside them and in our hearts. We are grateful every day for our teachers, but this week, we are "camping out," taking a little extra time to celebrate our amazing group of teachers. Thank you to all of our Kelso C-7 teachers!! We appreciate each of you!

Good Afternoon. Today we were scheduled for our group pics for Beta, Art Club, Coding, FTA, and Pep Club. Due to our MAP testing schedules we had to postpone this until Tuesday, April 23. Please send your child with their appropriate club shirt for their picture. Thank you for understanding.

Kelso C7 will be dismissing at 230 today due to the threat of impending weather. Randy's bus will dismiss first, then car riders, then Ted's bus. This will give us a better chance of everyone being home before the potential severe weather hits
