The Kelso C-7 Board of Education met for its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Board President Liz Glastetter called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. with a quorum present.

Board members in attendance included Elizabeth Glastetter, Major Burger, Dustin Benson, Travis Dirnberger, and Roy Buell (who arrived at 6:10 p.m.). Jim Eftink and Michael Glastetter were absent.

Approvals

The Bord approved the meeting agenda as amended, along with the consent agenda. The consent agenda included:

  • Approval of the January 21, 2026 meeting minutes

  • Approval of current expenditures

  • Approval of the Treasurer’s Report


Celebrating the Good

Two Minutes of Good

Fourth grade teacher Michaella Gantz and third grade teacher Jaime Burger shared this month’s “Two Minutes of Good,” highlighting positive happenings in our classrooms. We are grateful for teachers who take time to spotlight the wonderful things our students are accomplishing each day.

Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Shannon Leggett, PAT Educator, presented an overview of our Parents as Teachers program. This important program supports early childhood development and strengthens partnerships with families before students even enter kindergarten.


Building & Safety Updates

Dr. Kim Burger, Superintendent, provided an update on recent building improvements. Office furniture has been delivered, and the next step includes meeting with a vendor to install safety film on windows as part of our ongoing security enhancements.

A safety update was also shared outlining continued progress in reviewing and strengthening district safety procedures. Ensuring a secure environment for students and staff remains a top priority.


Academic & Program Updates

The Board reviewed Program Evaluations for January and February as part of the district’s continuous improvement efforts.

Closed Session & Personnel

The Board entered closed session at 7:02 p.m. for staff employment and legal matters, returning to open session at 7:51 p.m.

Upon returning to open session, the Board unanimously approved the hiring of Ryder Chapman and Teresa Green as substitute teachers. We are grateful to have them supporting our students and staff.


Looking Ahead

The next regular Board of Education meeting will be held on March 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
