November 19, 2025 – Regular Monthly Meeting

The Kelso C-7 Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the school library. President Elizabeth Glastetter called the meeting to order with all board members present.


Celebrations & “Two Minutes of Good”

Teachers Mrs. Sarah Schubert and Mrs. Anna Wagner started the evening by sharing uplifting stories from their classrooms. Board members enjoyed hearing about the positive academic, social, and personal growth taking place among Kelso C-7 students.


Building & Facility Updates

The Board received an update on current facility needs and reviewed the district’s financial report related to building projects. Planning and improvements continue as part of our commitment to providing a safe, welcoming, and effective learning environment.
Additionally, the Board approved the upgrade of fire alarms in the gym through ESI Communications.


Safety Update

Administration provided updates on recent emergency drills and the ongoing implementation of the Raptor Safety System, which enhances visitor management and strengthens overall school safety procedures.


Quarterly Financial Report & Budget Amendments

Board members reviewed the Quarterly Financial Report and proposed budget amendments. Discussions focused on keeping district finances aligned with student needs, operations, and long-term priorities.


Bus Driver Payment – Field Trips

The Board discussed compensation for certified staff who drive buses for field trips during the school day and approved the policy as presented.
The updated policy will be available on the district website.


Program Evaluation

The Administration and Fiscal Management Program Evaluation was reviewed, highlighting district accounting practices, budgeting processes, and overall operational efficiency.


Annual Performance Report (APR)

The Board reviewed both the 2024 and 2025 APR results, which reflect Kelso C-7’s performance in academic achievement, attendance, and state accountability measures.
These reports can be viewed on both DESE’s website and the Kelso C-7 School District website.


Principal’s Report

Mrs. Lands shared updates from the recent MTSS Board Meeting, focusing on intervention structures and supports designed to meet student needs at every level.


Superintendent’s Report

Dr. Burger presented updates on several key areas, including:

  • Regulation 2240

  • Federal Programs

  • CSIP (Comprehensive School Improvement Plan) progress

  • Legislative updates impacting Missouri schools

  • Upcoming quarterly district report schedule


Closed Session

The Board entered closed session in accordance with Missouri law to review items protected from public disclosure.
During closed session, the Board took action to offer three-year contract extensions to Dr. Burger and Mrs. Lands.

The next regular monthly Board of Education meeting will be held on December 17, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in the Kelso C-7 School Library.
