The Kelso C-7 Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. Below is a summary of key highlights and actions taken.
Celebrating Good Things
Each month begins with “Two Minutes of Good.” Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Stephanie Hahn and 1st grade teacher Mrs. Katelyn Jansen shared positive updates from their classrooms, reminding us of the great things happening every day at Kelso C-7.
District Audit
Patrick Kintner of Stanley, Dirnberger, Hopper & Associates presented the 2024-25 audit results. The Board unanimously approved the audit, ensuring financial accountability for our district.
Policy & Compliance Updates
Conflict of Interest Ordinance – Adopted per Missouri Ethics Commission guidance.
Points of Contact – Approved list of district contacts for key programs and compliance areas.
Board Policies & Regulations – Several updates were presented for review; official action will be taken in October
Safety & Facilities
Updates were shared on Phase Safety and Security projects.
The Board reviewed the District Safety Report as part of ongoing safety planning.
The Board approved transportation for students living within one mile of school due to safety concerns.
Bus routes for the 2025-26 school year were reviewed and approved.
Financial & Program Decisions
Mileage reimbursement will remain at $0.50 per mile.
The Board approved the ECSE Speech-Language Therapy contract.
Program Evaluations were presented, covering Student Assessment and Board operations.
Reports from Leadership
Principal’s Report: Celebrations of Positive Office Referrals and updates in administration and special education.
Superintendent’s Report: Highlights included 4-H after-school programming, CSIP (school improvement planning) review, Board refresher training, golf tournament updates, and facilities requests.
Personnel Updates
The Board approved the following for the 2025-26 school year:
Substitute Teachers: Toni Fisher, Zoe Bentley, Laura Kern, Julie Burger, Heather Thorne
After-School Care: Traci Bollinger, Zoe Bentley
Leadership Team: Stephanie Hahn, Michaella Gants, Penny Hale, John Erik Jenkins
Part-Time Nurse: Dana Bahr
