The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) supports this mission by helping close achievement gaps and providing opportunities for all students to succeed — especially those who are at-risk, migrant, homeless, English learners, or from rural and low-income communities. ESSA programs also support 21st Century Learning Centers and provide professional development for our teachers and school leaders.

Missouri’s ESSA plan works hand-in-hand with the Missouri School Improvement Program (MSIP), the state’s accountability system for continuous improvement. Together, these efforts ensure that Missouri — and districts like Kelso C-7 — continue to lead the way in supporting student growth, strong instruction, and community partnerships. By gathering feedback and maintaining a clear vision for education in Missouri, we aim to meet the needs of every child, every day.
